designer & maker

artist bio
Erin Irber is an artist working primarily in wood, guided by form, process, and an ongoing conversation with material. Her practice is rooted in traditional woodworking but resists staying fixed - moving between furniture, sculpture, and object-making with an openness to where the idea leads.
Trained at the Krenov School and shaped by years in cabinetry shops, Erin brings both technical skill and a willingness to disrupt it. Her ideas often unfold slowly - sometimes through sketches or mock-ups, sometimes through a niggling shape or concept that won’t let go until it’s built. Her pieces are shaped by both skill and experimentation, grounded in tradition but open to surprise. She values experimentation not because it always works out, but because it pushes her beyond her comfort zone and into new territory.
She is also the founder of Coast Collective, a platform built on the belief that a rising tide lifts all ships. Coast Collective promotes, sells, and exhibits the work of independent makers - creating space for craft-driven artists to be seen, supported, and celebrated alongside one another.
Erin lives and works in California.
